Dr. Amenti Sujai is an Associate Professor of Church History at the Dickerson-Green Theological Seminary. Before her teaching position at Allen, she was Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religion and Associate Director of the Center for Vocational Reflection at Claflin University in Orangeburg, SC. She has also served as Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Martin University in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her research areas are in the following three areas: History of the Christian Church, Spirituality and Mysticism, and Black Feminist Theology and Ethics. Dr. Sujai serves as Mentor to DMin students and has served on the following committees:

She is the author of Jewel in the Stone (2001), Dancin’ with the Beloved (2004), and co-author of You are the Jewel in the Stone: A Narrative Resource for the Theological Exploration of Vocation. (2004). Dr. Sujai is a member of the Society for the Study of Black Religion and the American Psychological Association. She is a spiritual guidance consultant, speaker, and writer. She conducts retreats on women’s religious and spiritual experiences. Dr. Sujai is the Senior Pastor of St. Matthew-Taylors United Methodist Church.
