Master of Divinity Program

Dickerson Green Theological Seminary provides high-quality graduate theological education for students preparing to serve churches, communities, and religious organizations.

The Master of Divinity degree prepares students for pastoral ministry and other forms of religious leadership. Through this program, students study the Bible, theology, pastoral care, preaching, worship, and ministry leadership.

In addition, the program helps students connect theological knowledge with the practical needs of congregations and communities. Students may complete the Master of Divinity program on campus or online.

Master of Divinity Admission Requirements

Applicants to the Master of Divinity or Master of Divinity Online program must submit the following materials:

1. A completed application form
2. A $45 nonrefundable application fee
3. Official transcripts from every college, university, graduate school, or seminary attended

The transcripts must confirm that the applicant earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Applicants should also have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5.

However, the admissions committee may consider applicants with a lower grade point average for provisional admission.

4. A personal statement

The personal statement should address the following questions:

• How would you describe your spiritual journey, and how has it shaped who you are today?

• What are your short-term and long-term career goals?

Transfer Student Admission Requirements

Transfer applicants must submit the following materials:

1. A completed application form

Transfer Credit Guidelines

Dickerson Green Theological Seminary reviews each transfer course before awarding credit.

To qualify for transfer credit, a course must meet the following requirements:

• The student must have earned a grade of B or higher.

• The course must come from an accredited institution or program.

• The course must apply to the Master of Divinity degree requirements.

• The student may transfer no more than 18 credit hours.

• The student must have completed the course within ten years of enrollment.
