CAEP Accountability Measures
The following measures reflect the Levett School of Education’s commitment to completer success, stakeholder engagement, candidate competency, and employment outcomes.
Measure 1: Completer Effectiveness and Impact on P-12 Learning
Allen University uses multiple measures to evaluate completer effectiveness, including teacher Student Learning Outcomes, internship and evaluation data, district feedback, and employer survey results.
- For the 2024-2025 reporting cycle, 100% of Elementary Education completers met or exceeded the established SLO goal.
- Across the cohort, two candidates were rated Exemplary and one candidate was rated Proficient.
- No candidates were rated Needs Improvement, Unsatisfactory, or Incomplete.
- This cycle represents the program’s first year of completer impact data and serves as an initial baseline for ongoing monitoring.
Measure 2: Satisfaction of Employers and Stakeholder Involvement
Employer Satisfaction Surveys are distributed electronically to administrators one year after a completer is hired. Allen University also engages internal and external stakeholders in program design, review, and continuous improvement.
- Survey responses are collected on a four-point satisfaction scale.
- The 2024-2025 academic year represents the first year of teaching for the program’s first cohort of completers.
- Employer satisfaction survey data will be available after completers complete their first full year in the classroom.
- Stakeholder input is gathered through advisory structures, district partnerships, ongoing MOU review, and professional learning opportunities supported through the SCEA Student Chapter.
Measure 3: Candidate Competency at Completion
The Elementary Education program prepares candidates to teach diverse learners in Grades 2-6 through coursework, clinical experiences, and performance-based assessments.
- Candidates complete more than 500 field and clinical hours in public elementary school classrooms.
- Program admission requires passing or exempting scores on required assessments, a qualifying GPA, references, a background check, a writing sample, and an interview.
- The revised ADEPT/SCTS 4.0 Rubric is used during internship to assess planning, instruction, assessment, environment, and professionalism.
- The first full cycle of data using the revised ADEPT/SCTS 4.0 assessment will be collected in Spring 2028.
Measure 4: Ability of Completers to Be Hired
Allen University tracks program graduates and monitors whether completers meet licensure requirements for employment in positions for which they were prepared.
- During 2024-2025, three candidates graduated from the program.
- Of those graduates, 66.7% completed all program and licensure requirements and were classified as completers eligible for licensure.
- Additional employment trend data will be reported as future cohorts enter the profession.
Licensure and Assessment Data
Allen University uses state-required licensure examinations as part of its assessment system and continuous improvement process. Candidates must earn the required Praxis II scores established by the South Carolina Department of Education.

Data from clinical practice, licensure exams, internship evaluations, and completer outcomes are used to strengthen program quality, refine candidate support, and guide decision-making.
- Assessment results help establish baseline outcomes for a growing teacher preparation program.
- Stakeholder and employer feedback inform program refinement and district responsiveness.
- Future reporting cycles will provide broader trend data as additional cohorts complete the program.
